Preceptors must have one year of experience in their field of focus, be located in an NKU approves state with an active license, employed at the location of precticum, and must not exceed the maximum number of students at this or another institution.

Preceptors cannot be the students direct or immediate supervisor, relative, significant other, personal friend, primary care provider, or a current student.

PaymentWorks is a trusted third-party partner of NKU. This system is used on an institutional level to issue payments to vendors. In order to recieve the provision, you will need to create an account and complete the new vendor registration with PaymentWorks.

The provision is issued after the clinical term has ended. This process can take up to 7 weeks after the end of the term to fully process payments. If you have chosen ACH, once the provision is released from the University, this may take 1-2 business days to appear in your bank account.

There are two portions to account registration, account creation and the new vendor registration form. You should be prompted to select your method of payment and provide either a mailing address or banking information. The ACH option will exedite the arrival of the provision. Please complete this form as an individual using your W-9, SSN, and address. All fields asking for name (company legal name, company DBA) require your own name.

In your PaymentWorks account, your customer's New Vendor Registration form is located in the "Connect" tab under the center "Customer Registrations" section. If your PaymentWorks account was created using your New Vendor Invitation and you are still unable to locate your New Vendor Registration form, .

Once your account is created and your email is verified, please complete the new vendor registration form. This will complete the creation of your account and will have you set up to receive the provision.

If the form has still not asked for your banking information, you have chosen to recieve your provision through check. If you would like to have this direct deposited into your account please select the ACH payment option which will then direct you to enter your banking information.

Yes, this is an optional benefit and is not required. Please let the Preceptor Management Team know if you would like to opt-out by emailing nppreceptors@nku.edu or by filling out the contact form. If your organization does not permit acceptance of payment, please let us know and connect us with a supervisor to confirm.

If there are any changes to your resume since the last time you precepted we ask that you resubmit it, but otherwise you do not have to resubmit. However, you don't have to resubmit PaymentWorks. Once you fill it out you're in the system for future semesters.

Yes, please email nppreceptors@nku.edu with your name, the student you precepted, and which letter you need, ANCC or AANPCP, and we'll send you a certification letter. 

1099's will be mailed to the address listed in your PaymentWorks account in late January, you will only recieve a 1099 if you recieved over $600 in the previous year.
