National Hispanic Heritage Month is a period to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate the group's heritage and culture. The Department of World Languages & Literatures and the Spanish Program collaborates with the Office of Latino Student Initiatives to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month each fall with several activities on campus.
Annual weekend long event held in downtown Cincinnati in early May every year to celebrate the diversity of Hispanic/Latino peoples and cultures in the Tri-State region. Event includes food, music, dancing, community resources, and more.
This event takes place every Thursday May through September on Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati. It features live local, regional and national Latin bands specializing in Salsa, Merengue, cumbia and Latin Jazz. In addition to the live music, local dance instructors host large dance classes teaching basic and intermediate Latin dancing.
