"I felt empowered to explore new avenues and seize countless opportunities for personal and professional development."

Conner worked with the Enright Ecovillage in Price Hill to build a community garden and raise seedlings in their greenhouse. She also used her GIS skills to benefit Groundwork Ohio Valley's work on climate change impacts.

"I wouldn't have known about any of these opportunities if it wasn't for Dr. Hopfensperger. Her dedication to nurturing the academic growth of her students is truly commendable Her kindness and encouragement created a supportive environment. I want to thank Dr. H for your boundless dedication, your unwavering support, and your profound commitment to fostering excellence in your students. "

GIS project for Groundwork Ohio River Valley

Part of Conner's work with Groundwork Ohio River Valley involved creating GIS maps.

Like many ENV majors, Conner gained significant skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and was able to apply those skills to benefit the local community. During the West Newport Climate Safe Workshop, Conner worked with local residents who helped to identify areas in their neighborhoods impacted by climate change as well as possible solutions to mitigate those effects.
