The Environmental Field is very diverse and this diversity is reflected in the variety of jobs for which one graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science is qualified. Public Education and Outreach – working with the public to achieve awareness about environmental problems and solutions. These jobs are available with non-profit organizations, government agencies, parks, outdoor education centers, etc.
Technical and restoration solutions to environmental problems – this kind of work includes pollution monitoring, restoration, site assessment, planning, modeling, etc. These jobs are available with consulting firms, water and wastewater facilities, government agencies and some non-profit organizations.
Political/legal aspects of environmental problems – this area includes lobbying, technical writing, data gathering and analysis and other activities that support regulation and litigation.
