honors students in Chicago

We believe it’s important for students to develop a sense of social responsibility, so we encourage students to engage with the northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati communities by connecting what they learn in the classroom to local and regional needs. This experiential learning can take the form of trips to local organizations, interactions with guest speakers, participation in special projects in the community, or undergraduate research with direct ties to the region.

Here are some of the community engagement opportunities happening this fall:

  • Lunch and Learns- Students can participate in our weekly Lunch and Learn events, where we invite guests to talk about regional interests and needs, professional development, internship and job opportunities, and much more. Each week features a different guest. Past guests have included local physicians and surgeons, nurse practitioners, business entrepreneurs, CEOs of regional companies, lawyers and judges, non-profit leaders, mayors and government officials from the area, and alumni who connect their honors experiences to their current occupations. These events will expose you to a variety of opportunities available to you during, and hopefully early in your college career. Last fall alone, we invited 38 different guests to speak with first semester students.                                         Â
