EDU 391 Middle Grades Field Experience I (2 credit hours)
Catalog Description:
Field experience in middle grades schools; including application of
instructional theory to middle-grade classroom settings.
Additional Information:
Teacher candidates are placed in a local middle school classroom corresponding to one
of their content area specializations. They collaborate closely with an
experienced educator to design and implement instruction, develop classroom
management skills, and engage in reflective practice. Candidates complete a
minimum of 75 hours EDU 391.

EDS 473 - Special Education Field Experience: These courses, taught in an integrated fashion, cover the principles of applied behavior analysis, assessment for determining eligibility and for designing instruction,
and adapted teaching techniques that are effective for students with mild disabilities. In addition, undergraduate students work closely with classroom teachers in the
schools to practice both the art and the science of teaching. The following table presents the specific course objectives, related KY Teacher Standards, CEC Initial
Level Educator Preparation Standards, InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards, KY Framework for Teaching Domains, and relevant means of assessment.
