91ߣƵ’s School of the Arts (NKU SOTA) continues its on-tour theatre season with the regional premiere of the multiple award-winning musical, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, at The 5/3 Bank Theatre at the Aronoff Center for the Arts in downtown Cincinnati, OH. The heart-warming and fabulously over-the-top musical by playwright and costume designer extraordinaire, Howard Crabtree, composer Dick Gallagher, and lyricist Mark Waldrop, will be on stage from September 27 – October 6, 2024.
When Pigs Fly follows Howard, who struggles to put on a lavish musical revue over numerous obstacles, including the near-mutiny of his cast and the nagging memory of his evil high school guidance counselor, who told him he’d succeed only “when pigs fly.” Filled with gorgeous gowns, sappy torch songs, and toe-tapping music, this campy musical revue will have you laughing till the cows… er, pigs come home!
The cast includes Mark Schutzman, Bodie Moore, Jathan Briscoe, Luc Vanderbroek, and Charlie Norman.
The production team features Jordan Kerr as Stage Manager, Cat Schmeal as Costume Designer, Missy White as Wig and Make-up Designer, Payne Ackerman as Lighting Designer, Rob Kerby as Scenic Designer, Eric Barker as Props Designer, Jo Sanburg as Sound Designer. The show is directed by Michael Hatton, choreographed by Hunter Broyles, and musical directed by Jimmy Wiederhold. Buckle up as we blast right past Hog Heaven’s gate!
